Lake Nakuru, 2

February 26, 2013

One of the Rift Valley’s soda lakes, Lake Nakuru is home to thousands of pink flamingos who flock to the lake’s shallow waters. Many other extraordinary birds make their home here as well. We were fortunate to photograph both the rare black and white rhinoceros as well as Rothchild’s ¬†giraffe which is unique to this area. We witnessed both sunrise and moon rise over Lake Nakuru making us more reluctant to leave this beautiful National Park and confront Nairobi with its omni-present traffic.
